How do you design an app for notary services from your phone?
UI/UX design and prototyping Mobile app interface design Service catalog architecture Guided step-by-step flows Document upload and case tracking In-app chat and scheduling Payment and checkout screens Illustration system and visual language
Biante is an app that connects people in El Salvador with the notaries and attorneys who handle their legal procedures: vehicle sales, wills, certified copies, real estate sales, lease agreements, powers of attorney. We designed the complete product experience, from the first screen to the signed document.
The hard part was never the law. A notarial procedure is invisible: you don't know which service you need, which documents to bring, who has your case or how long it will take. The app had to make all of that visible.
A notarial procedure turned into steps anyone can follow
Instead of a form, the app is a numbered path: choose the legal service you need, see exactly which documents to have on hand before you start, upload them from your phone and pay. Each screen answers the one question the user has at that moment —what do I do now— and nothing else. The illustrations carry that work: a hand holding a key for a vehicle sale, a hand holding a card for the payment step, so the meaning of the screen is clear before you read the text.
From choosing the service to signing with the notary
The prototype covers the complete journey: onboarding, sign-up with a Salvadoran phone number, the home screen with service search and the procedure in progress, the catalog of notarial services, the guided steps, the list of required documents, file upload, case management with the assigned notary and their fee, the chat to schedule the signing appointment, and the payment flow with delivery address and card.
The result is a service that someone can complete the first time without knowing any legal vocabulary, and a case that both parties follow from the same screen.
PROCEDURES WITHOUT THE RUNAROUND AND WITHOUT HAVING TO GUESS ANYTHING
