How do you design a travel app that accepts Bitcoin payments?
UI/UX design and prototyping Booking flows for three verticals Crypto checkout and wallet screens Search, filter and results architecture Host dashboard and tour publishing Dark interface and design system Bilingual product writing Development-ready handoff
BitcoinTravel is a travel marketplace where the whole trip is paid for in Bitcoin: flights, stays and activities in a single app, with the wallet, the bank account and the card living in the same account.
Two hard things came together here. A booking flow is already one of the longest in consumer software — search, filter, compare, choose seats, fill in passenger details, pay. And crypto checkout adds steps no traveler has seen before: choosing a network, scanning a wallet QR, waiting for confirmation. The design had to make the second feel as ordinary as the first.
Paying in Bitcoin without making the traveler learn crypto
At checkout, Bitcoin and card appear as two equal options, and choosing Bitcoin adds only what is strictly necessary: pick the network, scan the code, done. The wallet lives inside the same Accounts screen as the bank account and the card, so crypto reads as one more payment method and not a separate world. The dark interface with a single orange accent does the guiding: everything you can tap is orange, everything else stays quiet.
Three marketplaces in one app, plus the host side
The prototype covers flights, stays and activities from the same search bar, with the complete flight journey: results on a map, filters for stops, baggage, price and duration, itinerary detail, passenger details and checkout. Stays and tours run on their own cards with ratings, cancellation policy and reviews. And underneath is a second product: the host dashboard, where an operator publishes an activity and tracks its reach, comments and bookings.
Everything was delivered as an interactive prototype on a consistent dark design system, specified so the booking and payment flows could go straight to development.
